Impulse success at Bryan Ferry concert in Dubai

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates – On Wednesday, 2nd June 2004, the successful launch of Neo One's IMPULSE Entertainment solution was made during the Bryan Ferry concert.

The Impulse system allows audiences to communicate instantly with each other, the artist, and venue staff by sending text messages from their mobile phones to large screens in the venue. Audiences can use Impulse to chat, flirt, vote, send MMS messages, and take part in other interactive activities. Besides its SMS-to-screen capabilities, Impulse provides venues with invaluable data needed to build and maintain strong relationships with customers.

Attended by 4,200 people, the Bryan Ferry concert was the last of Mirage Promotions’ outdoor events to be staged at the Dubai Country Club before the onset of summer. The Impulse system was displayed on two giant screens (14ft x 10ft) for an hour prior to the start of the concert.

Impulse attracted some hundreds of users and quickly became the primary source of entertainment for the waiting audience. On average, the system received two text messages every 10 seconds. Chat message traffic was regularly interspersed with a series of relevant full-screen advertisements featuring both local and international brands. The venue management have expressed an intention to include the IMPULSE Entertainment solution into the new season’s concert calendar starting in September.
