Neo One and Text-A-Pro Gives Rapid Response to UK Pet Owners with Text-A-Vet Service

Neo One, a provider of consumer-driven interactive managed services, announces the launch of its Text-A-Vet service (www.textavet.com), which is delivered through its Text-A-Pro text messaging system. Text-A-Vet means pet owners can send questions by SMS to a qualified vet, and receive a response within the hour.
The service, which costs £1.50 per question, is intended for pet owners who need advice and reassurance, and is straightforward to use. Pet owners simply text the word “vet” followed by their question to short code number 83248. They immediately receive an acknowledgement by text to their phone, shortly followed by the vet’s answer.
The team of vets is headed by chief veterinary surgeon, Jenny Babington, BVetMed MRCVS. She comments: “I came up with the Text-A-Vet idea after talking to a client who brought in her dog for a check up. She said she had a number of pet care questions, but didn’t want to bother me with them. She felt her concerns were insufficiently important for my attention; but she wasn’t sure where to find answers.”
Babington continues: “I was disappointed my client felt she couldn't consult me about her worries - no matter how small. Now, Text-A-Vet means concerned pet owners, who may not want to visit a veterinary practice over less serious matters, can send their questions by SMS, and rest assured they'll quickly receive expert answers."

Text-A-Vet is an advice service: it is not intended for use in emergency situations. As always, injured or sick pets must be taken to a veterinary practice for physical examination.
